ROBORHOOD INVESTMENTS TOP PORTFOLIO IN THE NFL PLAYOFFS
With the Philadelphia Eagles poised to host the Minnesota Vikings in the playoffs, the investors who fund the teams share a lot in common.
It’s not just about winning, the investments are also about getting a quick return, especially in the short term.
For instance, the $10.1 million invested in the Raiders this year is the third highest percentage in the NFL.
The rest of the investors are also putting in a lot, like the $1.5 million invested into the Bears this year.
“There are a lot of similarities between the investments and how you would invest in an individual team, but there are also differences,” said Patrick Hickey, director of investment at Investec Securities.
The Raiders and Bears are the only two teams in the league with the highest ownership in the form of owner groups.
The Oakland Raiders have the largest group, with $1 million in investments and the Bears have the second highest with $700,000.
Possible scenarios include a team building a new stadium, a new team logo, or both, according to Hickey.
The Raiders and the Broncos have both been active in their bid for a new home.
The Rams and the Ramsons are the two teams that are most likely to get in, although it is still uncertain who will be the new home of the Rams.
Investment funds are more popular than ever for professional sports teams because of their low fees and tax-advantaged financing.
There is no limit to how much money can be invested in a team.
The amount of money you can invest in a professional sports team is limited, but the returns you can expect are usually very good.
Many professional sports franchises have been investing in stadium renovations for decades.
But the NFL has recently seen an influx of new money.
The Dallas Cowboys, who had a record $3.4 billion in assets, are investing $400 million into a new domed stadium, with an eye towards bringing back the NFL’s Cowboys.
The New York Giants are also on the expansion side, with the hope of building a $1 billion stadium.
The Cleveland Browns, who were valued at $1 trillion, have been on the investment side, investing more than $300 million in various sports properties, including the Cleveland Clinic and the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Denver Broncos are also looking to build a new facility, with more than 20 million square feet of indoor space.
